Thanksgiving week is upon us, ushering in a season where home takes center stage. Tables fill, families gather, and gratitude becomes tangible. It's a reminder of how many rescued children are discovering, perhaps for the first time, what it feels like to belong somewhere safe.
GIRLS’ TRAUMA CARE HOME PROGRESS
On June 1, our teams rescued 4,989 children from `17 rock quarries. Among them were more than 300 pregnant girls who are now sheltered and receiving the steady care they need. Their safety is one of the many reasons we're thrilled to share the progress on our new girls' trauma care home.
To honor their safety and privacy, the identities of these young women have been concealed.
Just last week, members of our team were on the ground checking in on the construction firsthand, and everything is moving beautifully. We've received approval to add an additional floor, meaning the space will become a refuge for 300 girls rather than the original plan of 240. This home is shaping into a place of light and restoration, where girls can settle into rhythms of healing and belonging.
COMPUTER LAB GRADUATE SUCCESS
This spring, we opened a computer lab in our original children's home, funded by the generosity of 5 Point Church in Easley, SC. Just last week, 22 young women who trained there began jobs with a tech business owned by one of our graduates. It's another strong thread in a story more than a decade in the making. Together, we're building a sustainable future as graduates step into hopeful, steady lives and give back to those coming after them.
THE BEST NEWS OF ALL!
Now, perhaps the most joyful news of all: family reunions continue to multiply! More than 1,000 children have now been reunited with their families. Thousands more are still being cared for by courageous Christian families while we search for their parents.
Currently, 500 more children are ready to go home, and we need your help to make it possible. Each reunion requires careful investigation, travel, steady support from local pastors, and the food and medical care needed along the way. A gift of $750 provides everything required to bring one child safely home.
Entering this season of gratitude, we're deeply thankful for all you've already made possible. And as more children prepare for their reunions, we ask you to prayerfully consider making the next homecomings possible. As you gather together with your family this Thanksgiving, we hope you're encouraged to know that your generosity is helping bring another family back together again.
Gratefully, David Moorhead
