Hope | Present And Future

Winter is a time for us to dig our roots deep and see what we couldn’t see when the leaves were blocking our view. It’s a time for observation, reflection, and hope for the future. As you settle into this winter, enjoy the stillness and contemplation it brings. Embrace its lack of distractions and gain vision for your own future. Enjoy the hope that it brings and then share it with those around you.

RESOLVED TO SHARE HOPE:

THE PATEL FAMILY

Katie and Akash brought Kedar home from South Asia in 2017, and resolved that they still wanted to bring hope to more children there. They worked through hours of research to find out what nonprofit resonated with them, where the largest needs were, and who was making the biggest impact. In this process, they discovered the work in South Asia. They heard the stories of children who were once abused, tormented, and preyed upon being given new life and new opportunities. Knowing that these children were being transformed through developing relationships with Christ, the Patels couldn’t look away.

Now, three years later Katie, Akash, Kedar, and newborn daughter, Aryanna are thriving in Atlanta, Georgia, and using their resources to help bring hope to children who were once slaves in South Asia. They believe that sharing the stories of the rescued children is just as important as giving financially, so they take advantage of every opportunity they have to spread the word.

With millions of children trapped in slavery in India, there is much work to be done, but the solution comes from sharing your voice. Katie said, “The needs in India are absolutely huge.

There are so many more kids who could be rescued if more people would partner with CFC, and the fact that there are kids who can’t be rescued due to a lack of resources to care for them is heartbreaking.

Once people understand the plight of the kids who are in slavery, it’s hard not to get involved and for it to grip your heart. It is important to us to share the story of these kids with others who could help.” Because of families like the Patels, every child we care for in the present and future receives the hope that comes from knowing how loved and valued they are in God’s eyes. They will have futures much brighter than their pasts

ANOTHER GRADUATING CLASS

Thanks to Insurepointe of TX, The Family of Jim Frith, Silent Tears, Grace Church, Doxa Church, and our 2019 5k Participants, 33 more students will graduate from our vocational training program this March! Be in prayer for job opportunities as well as a smooth transition from students to employees.

OUR FIRST YEAR

In less than a year, CFC donors gave over $600,000 to the children in South Asia! For a young nonprofit, that’s monumental. Thank you for partnering with us to bring hope to the hopeless in the present and the future.

POWERFUL PRAYER

In our time of reflection this winter, we noticed that in focusing on the triumphs of our work, we’ve not shared many of the challenges. This year, we’ll be inviting you to take part in our team’s monthly prayer request emails. Keep an eye on your inbox each month and join us in lifting up the needs of the rescued children in South Asia.

A GUIDE TO HARVESTING HOPE

  1. Keep $5 gift cards to fast food chains in your purse or wallet to share with those who need a little help or encouragement.

  2. Spend 5 minutes a day in prayer for friends going through a difficult season and for the rescued children.

  3. Mail an encouraging note to who could use some hope.

  4. Skip one week of Starbucks, and use that money to buy a $25 school supply kit for the rescued kids on shop.childfreedom.org.

  5. Volunteer to spend time with residents at a nursing home near you.
