The Sylom Children’s Home is over 8,000 miles away from the USA.
That’s a long way, and it is easy to feel disconnected from the work you support there. Our hope is that the 2020 Child Freedom 5K will bring the children that you love and support a little closer.
You’re invited to join the race to end slavery on September 12th. By joining this event, as a runner, volunteer, or sponsor, you’ll be able to impact children that seem a world away.
Over 200 people participated in our first Child Freedom 5K in 2019. This year, we’re looking to grow this event with the help of people like Mike Meilinger. Last year, Mike’s company, Meilinger Consulting, sponsored the 5K. He rallied his friends, clients, and employees to join the race and made a huge difference in the process. In the end, over 50 people joined the race because Mike relentlessly championed the cause.
This year, Meilinger Consulting chose to be our Presenting Sponsor, and because of Mike and the other sponsors who underwrite the event, we’re able to send 100% of every race entry to the field- even reimbursing the credit card fees.
Mike has leveraged his network to gather sponsors, runners, and volunteers.
He’s even covering his clients’ employees’ race fees so that they can pay it forward to others in their community. Our team is humbled and grateful for the hundreds of people like Mike who choose to go beyond themselves and join the good work of ending slavery in Jesus’ name.
