12 Months of Progress At CFC’s Trauma Care Home for Girls

In the summer of 2025, Child Freedom Coalition rescued 4989 kids from 17 rock quarries. In the initial medical checks, 381 girls were discovered to be pregnant from abuse that took place in the quarries. While our team had anticipated some girls to need specialized medical care, this higher number was not something we were prepared for at that time. This need launched a project to the forefront that we had wanted to do for a long time: a specialized care facility for girls who’ve experienced the worst life can do. In September 2025, Child Freedom Coalition acquired a partially completed apartment complex to become the Trauma Care Home for Girls. Since rescue, 164 girls were reunited to their families, 121 had their babies, and sadly, 96 girls lost their babies due to the combination of malnutrition and extreme stress from the quarry and the rescue. When completed, this home will house 300 people, 121 rescued girls & their babies, and about 60 other girls who’ll heal better in specialized care.

Located just 30 minutes from our large home in South India, the construction of the Trauma Care Home for Girls has made steady progress throughout the past year. In November 2025, we filed a request to add a floor which expanded the living capacity by 25%. Electrical, plumbing, tiling, interior and exterior painting have all been making progress, and we’re planning to move girls in at Christmastime. Some of the projects like an onsite medical clinic will be completed early next year after the girls have moved into the home.

This home represents new life, not only for these girls, but also their children whose first experiences in the world will be marked by safety and a community that is healing. So many of these girls have already come to know Jesus, and all have been invited into relationship with him. They see the love of Jesus’ followers who care for them, and they feel his love as they heal from their past.

A number of local female doctors, who are some of our greatest advocates within the community, have already given generously to help with the expansion to the 4th floor as well. That community buy-in is critical as we move forward. Thank you for partnering with us as we bring girls out of darkness and into the light where they can heal, thrive, and break generations of poverty. Your support is changing the lives of the girls & their children already in our care, and making space for us to rescue more girls and care for them well for decades to come. As we plan our next raid for girls trapped in brothels, this home will eventually be the safe space where those girls live and heal from their trauma as well, and we see this investment as a place for healing decades into the future.
