This fall, following the most historic rescue in our organization’s history, I traveled to South Asia at a critical moment in our work. The purpose of the trip was simple but weighty: to check in on our team, provide support, and see the work firsthand to carry home both the stories and the needs that don’t always translate across distance.

I witnessed staggering need and God’s miraculous and unmistakable provision.

What follows is a collection of thoughts I jotted down in phone notes, text messages, and in my own mind as we drove on bumpy roads from place to place. It’s a record of what I witnessed, what I carried, and what stayed with me long after each day ended. While it’s not a polished travel report, I’m sharing it in the hope that it can both encourage you and give you a clearer window into the reality our team on the ground lives with every day.
